Bees Bringing in Pollen:       Yes

Eggs:                                           Yes

Open Brood:                            Yes

Sealed Brood:                         Yes, 6 frames

Open Nectar:                          Yes

Capped Honey:                      Yes, top super nearly full plus half outer 2 in lower

Queen Spotted?                    No

Queen Cells:                            No

Drones:                                      Patches of drone cells

Temperament:                       Calm, started to get a bit livelier at the end

Present:                                     Andrew, Julie, Kirsten

COMMENTS:                           Added 2nd super of ½ drawn/ ½ foundation

 Action Needed?                    Looks precariously tilted especially with 3rd box, needs to be dismantled and straightened.  Wait a week or so for small amount of sealed brood in honey super to hatch and then extract.


Our new colony


The beehive was collected from St Leonards and installed at the garden on 21/1/2014.

Here they are happily relocating the next morning - few bees are out yet as it is still early and cool.
